Back to share some more of the bee blocks I have made for the IMAGINE circle of do. good stitches. over the past few months.

April 2012

April was hosted by Andy of A Bright Corner. She asked for two 12.5 x 12.5 inch blocks using the Hexing Around the Block tutorial from Freshly Pieced. She wanted to make a rainbow, so we each choose a color and made two blocks from it. My color was dark blues. I think the finished quilt turned out great and I think my blocks stand out nicely.

May 2012

May was hosted by Toni of Hoosier Toni. She asked for two rolling stone blocks using Don’t Call Me Betsy’s tutorial. Her colors inspirations were orange, yellow, lime/apple green, aqua/teal and white. This was my very first time paper piecing and I found it relatively easy since the tutorial instructions are so good. The finished quilt turned out very cute.

June 2012

June was hosted by Amanda at My Sewcial Hour. She asked for two improv chevron blocks. She guided us to a tutorial by Six White Horses to complete the blocks. Her color inspiration was white, very light grey, yellow, green and blue/aqua. She was aiming for a light gender neutral color scheme. This block took longer than I expected, but I think they came out great. No finish on this quilt yet, but I will post once Amanda completes it.

Look out for a post on July, August and September blocks and quilts next week. If you are interested in joining do. Good Stitches, you can find sign up information here.
